Lohff & Pfeiffer comments to the model The Buffet Crampon DG was launchet in the late 1990 and owes its name Daniel Gautier, the chief designer and one of the best instrument makers at the Buffet factory.
The instrument had a bore slightly narrower than a RC and the toneholes had less undercutting. The tuning and evenness over the octaves was excellent. It was available in 440Hz
One of the most unique features of the DG was the design of the ring-keys, which were shaped convex to allow a better finger-touch between the rings and the tone-holes. This feature is revived in the new Legende clarinet.
Unfortunately, the DG production stopped before the turn of the century, to make space for newer models. Nevertheless. It was one of the top clarinets ever build.
A very unique aspect of the RC-Prestige is the convex upper part of the bore of the bell. It helps to bring up the pitch of the low E and F.
